According to the official open sources, the company’s history began in 1919. Headquarters is located in Paris, France.

Founded by pharmacist Isaac Carasso in Barcelona and named after his son Daniel (diminutive – Danone).

The main business lines are dairy products, baby and medical food, mineral water. Products are manufactured under such well-known brands as Danone SA, Actimel, Danissimo, Evian, and others.

By 1942, Danone SA was widely represented not only in Europe and in the United States but also in Mexico and Brazil. In 1953, Danone first introduced to the US market a new type of product – fruity yogurt.

In 1957, Danone SA merged with Gervais, which led to the emergence of new types of dairy products.

In 1973, the company Gervais-Danone merged with the glass concern BSN, which became the largest food manufacturer in France. In the mid-1970s, all forces were thrown into expanding the food sector. In the 1980s, the company continued to grow rapidly: in 1981, it acquired The Dannon Company in the USA, and in 1986, Generale Biscuit, and began producing cookies.

In 2007, Danone SA announced the sale of assets for the production of cookies, and the simultaneous purchase of the company Royal Numico (baby and health food), which marked the beginning of major strategic changes.

Today this brand is listed on the Euronext and its name is firmly established in our life.
