Swissy

"Swissy" is a colloquial term used in the foreign exchange (Forex) market to refer to the Swiss franc (CHF), the official currency of Switzerland. The Swiss franc is considered a major currency and is often viewed as a "safe-haven" currency, especially during times of global economic uncertainty, due to Switzerland's long-standing political neutrality, stable economy, and strong banking system.

The Swissy is frequently traded in currency pairs, such as USD/CHF (U.S. dollar against the Swiss franc) and EUR/CHF (euro against the Swiss franc). The USD/CHF pair is particularly popular among Forex traders, as it reflects the strength of the U.S. dollar in relation to the Swiss franc, making it a key indicator of market sentiment toward global economic stability.

Many traders and investors use the Swissy as a hedge against risk during periods of economic volatility, viewing it as a reliable store of value. The Swiss National Bank (SNB) plays a significant role in managing the franc's value, particularly through interventions to prevent excessive appreciation, which can impact Switzerland’s export-driven economy.
